Description

 Purpose: The Technology Director/Teacher is responsible for coordinating and planning, maintenance, and program aspects of technology in the district.  The duties of this position include network supervision, inventory tracking, hardware implementation and service, staff support utilizing technology, planning, purchasing, budgeting, school board reports and presentations.
CTE Teacher Licensure

To teach in an Oregon state approved CTE program, the instructor must have an appropriate CTE license and/or endorsement, specific to the program career area.

 

Essential Functions:

 

1.    Plan and coordinate all planning, budgeting, purchasing, and maintenance functions of a successful education technology program under the support of the Superintendent.

2.    Communicate effectively with all district staff, vendors, and general public regarding technology.

3.    Coordinate and provide user support and troubleshoot network problems with the network provider (Cascade Technology Alliance) and other staff.

4.    Actively manage and program network servers and switches.

5.    Establish and maintain accurate inventory files for all hardware and software.

6.    Supervise installation of appropriate software and provide initial training when appropriate.

7.    Provide technical, organizational, and planning support for staff and/or community groups using district technology.

8.    Provide on-site service at district facilities as needed.

9.    Assist in the completion of state and federal reports related to technology.

10.  Prepare and present district status reports and other technology information to the school board, technology committee, and other committees and employe groups as needed.

11.  Lead and participate in a district technology committee to support stakeholder involvement in the implementation of technology within the district.

12.  Keep current on new technologies, both to assist users of technology and educators who use and/or teach technology.

13.  Other duties as needed to support district technology and report to the Superintendent.

14.  164-260 Day Contract per year TBD.

 

Preferred Professional Qualifications:

 

1.    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.  CTE licensure or endorsement preferred.

2.    Five year’s experience working in a technology environment to include network administration, desktop support, and telephony support.

3.    High degree of micro-computer literacy with understanding of network principals.

4.    Experience with program development, budgeting, and project management.

5.    Windows, Apple/Macintosh experience.

6.    Network video camera experience.

7.    Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

8.    Dual platform experience.

9.    Knowledge of and experience in the installation of switches, routers, access points and other network infrastructure equipment.
